Ejiro Umukoro is a multi-award-winning broadcaster, investigative journalist, and social entrepreneur. She was nominated for ICFJ Knights Award and is an Awardee and Fellow of the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism’s Report Women Leadership Program, WanaData Champion 2018 and Fellow, Pulitzer Centre Grantee, and Winner of British Council International Communications Entrepreneur (IYXE) representing Nigeria at the Global Awards in the UK. She has been interviewed by BBC London in the UK, Pulitzer Centre, Wisconsin University USA, Voice of Nigeria, Channels TV, FRCN, Daily Trust, Media Career Development Network, Newswire.NG, Pointer Newspaper amongst others. Umukoro serves as a Mentor with the ICIR-MacArthur Foundation Capacity Building for Journalists.
Her debut novel, Distortion, is a mental health fiction based on real-life incidents encountered in her investigative series into Domestic Violence and Broken Boys and Broken Girls Trapped Under COVID-19, as well as in the course of her career as a media practitioner.
