Plenary proceedings of the House of Representatives, Tuesday, May 14th, 2024
The Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen presided.
After leading the opening prayer and recitation of the national pledge, the Speaker approved the votes and proceedings of Thursday, May 9th 2024.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen with profound sadness announced the passing away of Hon. Isa Dogonyaro from Jigawa State. He eulogized the late Hon. Dogonyaro for being an honest and a forthright lawmaker. The Speaker praised late Hon. Dogonyaro for being a true friend, patriot and detribalized Nigerian who was free and fair to those he came in contact with while alive. Speaker Abbas Tajudeen called on the family of late Hon. Dogonyaro, who were at the gallery to observe the brief proceedings of the day, bear the loss with strength and dignity and ensure the continuation of his legacy.
The Speaker announced that a date for a valedictory session in honour of the late Hon. Dogonyaro would be fixed and communicated to his family.
The House then observed a minute of silence as a mark of respect for the late lawmaker.

The House at 11:21 AM adjourned plenary to Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 by 11:00 A.M following a motion for adjournment moved by Hon. Francis Waive and seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon. Kingsley Chinda.
